Specialty Areas are interdisciplinary, drawing faculty and students
across many areas of study. Students in a two-year or doctoral program
may elect to complete an additional specialty area as a minor in their
curricula. MCH Specialty AreaThe Maternal and Child Health specialty area track is available to two-year or doctoral students enrolled in any of the other admitting units within the School of Public Health.Students are required to complete 9 units of MCH courses. These include 3 units for the required MCH Core Course (PH 210), and 6 additional units to be chosen from a list of electives. At the time of graduation, each student who successfully completes the certificate requirements will receive a letter signed by the specialty area head and the dean of the School of Public Health. Students planning to complete a specialty area in Maternal & Child Health must contact the MCH assistant director. Other Specialty AreasStudents with a major concentration in Maternal and Child Health can choose to complete an additional minor in one of the other specialty areas offered through the School of Public Health. |
