Chandrika Zager is beginning her first year of the 2-year MCH program and the proud mother of an amazing and spirited 5-year-old girl. She received her Masters in Social Work from Columbia University in 2003. Upon graduation she worked as a psychotherapist with predominantly Puerto Rican and Dominican children and families in a Bronx mental health clinic and for the last four years has worked as a School Social Worker in an East Oakland middle school. She has spent time studying, interning and traveling in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Ethiopia and Cuba, and she enjoys salsa dancing and swimming with her daughter. Her work with adolescent girls around reproductive health combined with her experiences abroad and interest in international maternal child health issues has led her to pursue graduate study in Public Health with a concentration in Maternal Child Health. |
