Originally from Northern California, Jocelyn received her BA in Human Biology and Spanish from Stanford University. After spending time volunteering in Mexico and Brazil, she returned to the US to study at Johns Hopkins University, earning a BS in Nursing. Since becoming a Registered Nurse, Jocelyn has worked with children and families in a variety of settings, including rural clinics in Baja, California. Her primary interests are nutrition and environmental justice in relation to child health. Most recently she worked as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse and Educator at Ravenswood Family Health Center in East Palo Alto, working primarily with low-income immigrant families. She serves as a contributing member of the East Palo Alto Asthma Task Force and also sits on the Board for Collective Roots, an organization focused on garden-based education, food systems change and environmental action in the East Palo Alto community. She will be starting her first year of the 2-year MPH program. |
