Kate is in her second year of the 2-year MCH program. She became interested in MCH while she was serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 2005 to 2007 in Azerbaijan, where, among other things, she led a national girls' leadership camp, helped distribute healthy pregnancy information and taught English, health and environment to first through eleventh grades. She's hoping to use her MPH (and some Russian classes) to return to the Caucuses to work. Before joining the Peace Corps, she worked in Sacramento as a junior lobbyist/legislative aide. She is a wannabe runner and rock-climber, and misses the Discovery/National Geographic channels now that she has no TV. |
