Lauren Goli is in her second year of the 2-year program, and she was born and raised in Los Angeles.  Moving up to Berkeley is very exciting for her, and she is looking forward to meeting many gifted and ambitious fellow classmates.  She graduated from USC last year with a BS in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and minored in Philosophy.  During her year off she took part in both laboratory and clinical research at UCLA.  She conducted cell biology experiments to assess radiation-induced receptor expression and developed mouse brain tumor models in order to discover new immediate methods of treatment to radiation exposure.  Her clinical study assessed a patient's ability to maintain a health blood-pressure with and without regular meetings with nurses and simple explanation of preventive measures of high blood pressure.  She plans on studying Maternal and Child Health and pursuing medical school as a more well-rounded Obstetrician/Gynecologist.
