Nicole is a first year student in the 2-year program and a San Francisco native who, after completing her undergraduate studies in Business at Cal, finally burst out of the Bay Area bubble and landed in Okayama, Japan to teach English for a year. While abroad, she traveled and volunteered in Southeast Asia where her interest in global health began to coalesce. Upon her return to the US, Nicole served as an AmeriCorps member for a year with Jumpstart for Young Children, an early childhood education nonprofit. She now works in outreach and recruitment for the Global Health Fellows Program, and looks forward to diving into the curriculum and activities in the MCH department. She is especially interested in child health and survival, integration of microcredit/finance and health programs, and the role of private sector programs. |
